TCF Bank Stadium Inaugural Game

There are almost no words to explain just how amazing it was to be in the new Gophers stadium last night. So here's a few of my favorite moments from the evening...first off, we all got in with our student tickets, even though of the four of us, only Laura is actually a student any more...

by slightly budging in line, we ended up getting seats in the 6th row of the end zone - right up from Daniel, who was in the first row and just a couple of sections down from the Williamson men...

the general excitement around and inside the stadium - seeing that many people decked out in maroon and gold waiting to get into the stadium at the first possible moment...

realizing just how HUGE that new scoreboard is!...seeing an old friend and high school classmate out on the field with the Air Force media...

in keeping with the new digs, Goldy got not only a new podium, but a fancy new scooter to ride out on...the fireworks that went off in front of us as the team ran out of the locker room...

the flyover by the bombers...

introducing former Gopher standouts (players and coaches) represented by sons and daughters for those that are no longer living...Bud Grant's tears, clearly visible on the big screen, which of course had me crying...

hearing the student section chant "Future Gophers" to the recruits present...

those amazing words - "Gopher football is back on campus!" which had me crying again...another Gopher victory, the first in the stadium...

followed by lots more fireworks - shooting off from the top of the stadium...

the team making a run around the stadium to shake hands and celebrate with the fans...

the field goal posts being taken down immediately after the game, just in case...

the student section leaving through the student gate - to the chants of "Who hates Iowa? We hate Iowa." and "Who's house? Our house."

...and countless other moments that will remain forever etched in our heads and hearts.

It's okay. You were probably just crying because of all the hormones, right?

Well...I probably would've started crying anyway, but the hormones just made it that much worse! :)
