By the way, the Gophers, a 2 and 9 team, beat #24 ranked IOWA this weekend to finish off their season at 3 & 9. Woo-hoo! The game was A LOT of fun, including the (security-authorized) rushing of the field at the conclusion. Check out a video from the press box (side note, I love the Michigan game reference mid-way through this video - the only reason we never rushed the field in the dome was because there was so much security we never got to! Thanks to TCF Bank Stadium security for allowing the fans to celebrate appropriately!)

Here's the view from our seats of the initial rush, and then we decided we'd better join in!

Somehow, we were able to find Daniel on the field - he was extremely excited to have touched "the pig" (the MN/IOWA trophy is a metal pig called the Floyd of Rosedale), although he managed to lose track of his girlfriend in the process!

Weekend with the niece and nephews

We finally made the drive out to Sioux Falls to meet our new nephew, Gavin, over the weekend. It was a short trip (with A LOT of driving), but it was great to get to see him and the rest of the family, especially since we won't be seeing them over Thanksgiving. Gavin is already over 15 lbs at 2.5 months old(!), so there is a strong possibility that he will overtake Mia in weight by Christmas (she is 10.5 months old and probably closer to 19 lbs at this point)! Since the weather wasn't too nice, we spent the time inside playing catch, board games, and watching the Vikings. Too bad all of those cuties in their Viking gear wasn't enough luck for them to pull off a win!

Mia reads!

Or she tries to. And she doesn't like to wear pants. I'm pretty sure she'd love to just run around completely naked, all of the time. She must get that from her father.

Gophs Get It Done!

In all of the volleyball excitement, the even more exciting news on Saturday was that the Gophers pulled off a road win at Illinois! Even though everyone has pretty much written them off for the season, they still came out to play! Bye this week, then it's on to IOWA at home the weekend of Thanksgiving. WHO HATES IOWA? WE HATE IOWA.

So proud!

My cousin's volleyball team won their semi-final game against top-ranked team, Minneota, to make it into the state championship! The lost the first two games, but came back to win the final three - making it a very exciting (and nerve-racking!) match to watch! Unfortunately, they lost in the state championship game to Wabasha-Kellogg. It was such a fun tourney run - we're so proud of them!

My cousin's volleyball team (and my and my hubby's former alma mater) made it into the state volleyball tourney, so the whole family (minus grandma) is in town to watch! Yesterday, they won their first round, so today they play to make it into the state championship. Just wanted to share a few pictures from yesterday's game - we're all decked out in our MCW t-shirts that I made, and Mia was sporting her black and white!

My littlest brother was being a smart-ass about the t-shirts, so the back of his read "My cuzin is #7," but don't worry, the rest of ours were spelled correctly!

It's a good things she's cute...

...because she has kept David and I up for most of the night two out of the last three nights (and the one in between? she slept through the night - how does that work?!?)! Bah! We need sleep baby girl! We've tried the whole "cry it out" thing, but to no avail (we wait, she stands up in her crib and starts screaming, becoming progressively louder the longer we wait, which ultimately results in me having to spend even more time calming her back down). If anyone has any other suggestions, we're open to them!

10 months old!

Amelia turned 10 months old yesterday - crazy! This past month she has increased in speed (we turn around and she is GONE), her curiosity with anything that is most definitely NOT a toy has increased, she popped another bottom tooth out (that makes 7 total), she is constantly babbling, pointing, giggling, and chasing after the kitty. Yesterday she managed to steal Syd's treat from him, pop it into her mouth, and suck on it for a good 5 minutes before I realized what had happened. Gross.

She's keeping us on our toes!

Off she goes!
